On the Boardwalk

Cropped Sweatshirt, Boots, Sunglasses & Rings, Topshop // Skirt, Missguided // Necklace, Sradivarius //Bag, Zara //
Watch, Michael Kors // Bangles, H&M

I have had a few days break from blogging (including on Facebook and Instagram which I update regularly) due to unforeseen circumstances, but I have a couple outfit posts and articles to post over the next few days. I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago. I love wearing sweatshirts with skirts, I have a few sweatshirts like this one but this is my favourite and it's a couple of years old. It's cropped so it was perfect to tuck into this asymmetrical leather skirt. There are loads of similar cropped knit sweaters in Topshop at the moment in a variety of pastel colours.

I went on a shopping trip with my Mom and Sisters in Dublin the week before last and picked up this turquoise and gold statement necklace in Stradivarius for just €9, I love it! I also picked up this beige nail polish from Barry M, beige nails are my new favourite and they're just perfect for Summer. I love how they look with my usually lashing of gold arm candy!

Lily King

I received an exciting parcel yesterday from Lily King, a London based jewellery designer. I love how dainty all of the pieces are, and they are all beautifully handmade. I, akin to many others, have been wearing a lot of statement jewellery for the past while and I am now loving the simplicity of pieces like those of Lily King. Dainty, silver jewellery is perfect for Summer.

Summer Fashion at Jervis Shopping Centre

Oversized sunglasses, pretty dresses, festival accessories, and not having to cover up your perfectly styled outfit with a rainproof coat, everyone awaits that time of year when they can store away their crombie coat and shop for new Summer outfits. SS'13 is embracing whites, florals and pastels alike, 50's retro glamour, 90's old school varsity, and denim aplenty. SS'13 offers so many styles to try out, and Jervis Shopping Centre has all you need to emulate your favourite trends.

White Dress are must haves for SS'13, look out for asymetrical styles, white leather and crochet, all the above available from Topshop at Jervis Shopping Centre

Summer fashion exemplifies a fun and laid-back aesthetic, yet some of our favourite trends have evolved anew in SS'13. Sports luxe gets a retro yet structured look, look out for aerated leather and cocoon structured pieces. Prints are floral, tropical or paisley, on pants, crop tops and bomber jackets. Accessories are bold with striking neons. Lashing of jewellery is also key this season, nothing is understated. A palette of creams and nudes often exemplifies Summer fashion, yet for SS'13, white is prevailing. Crisp whites are huge this summer from white dresses to heels and white leather bags. Dungarees and denim pinafores are also key pieces channelling a nineties-esque teen street look. Granted, these pieces may seem fraught with potential peril, but they are easy styled. If you are uncomfortable in bodycon whites opt for a tshirt dress. If you are not loving the overgrown-kid look of dungarees opt for a denim pinafore. Choose trends which befit your personal style. With stores like Bershka, Topshop, New Look, Miss Selfridge and Forever 21, Jervis Shopping Centre has every trend nailed for SS'13.

Retro style shorts are key for the sports luxe trend of SS'13, whether they are aerated leather like these from Bershka or silk like this jade green pair from Topshop, ensure the are baggy and have an elasticated waist
Embellished dresses and crisp whites are key in Bershka and retro street-chic pieces are big in Topshop
Neon accessories, denim pinafores and pastel jewels are key at New Look

Printed Pants available from Forever 21 and Miss Selfridge

Varsity Blues

Varisty Jacket, Chicago Bulls Merchandise // Céline Paris Tshirt & Pyramid Bracelet, Ebay // Skirt, Missguided // Shoes,
Primark/Penneys // Bag (worn as clutch), Zara // Watch, Michael Kors // Bangles and Rings, Topshop

A couple of weeks ago I got a VIP invite to Galway Institute of Technology's 'Fashion Fiesta' show. The show itself was remarkably put together by the fashion students (see their blog here) and it was great to see such innovative fashion. It was a very fun and relaxed night so I opted for an outfit which reflected this.

You may have seen this varsity jacket in my previous Boohoo AW'13 Press Day post, between wearing it to the Press Day in London and to the Fashion Fiesta event, I have had so many people ask me where it is from. My father actually brought this jacket home from Chicago for me when I was sixteen. I love how original it is and I love how it is an authentic varsity jacket. I wore a cropped varsity style jacket in my shoot with Saibh Egan a while back (see it here) but I much prefer the oversized style of this one. I have always loved varsity jackets, and this one in particular, and love how they have come back into style this year. They transform any outfit and make it look very young and fun.

This skirt is also my newest favourite, I adore the asymmetrical style. A leather skirt is quite a staple piece, and I always love to find something with a bit of a difference, akin to this one. I featured this Céline Paris Tshirt in my April Wishlist, I wrote of how I was hesitant to purchase one as they have become so popular, especially with bloggers, and I don't like to wear something that everyone else has. That being said, I really love the style and my stubbornness subsided as I gave in to the fashion fad. I got mine from Ebay and there are so many still available. I have had this Zara bag for almost a year now and it is such a great every day bag, it has a long satchel style strap and it's the perfect size. I tucked the strap in and wore it as an oversized clutch. I love oversized clutches and think this bag has the perfect slouchy shape for it. I also wore it a a clutch for my feature in Stellar Magazine back in November. A grey bag is such an investment piece, it literally goes with everything.

Last week I re-designed the website and gave it a whole new look including a new banner and a re-designing of the side bar. I also changed by 'pages' title bar and archived all my outfit posts in the Personal Style page. I would love to know what you all think of the new website?

Boohoo AW'13 Press Day London

Varsity Jacket, Chicago Cubs Merchandise Store // Sweater (altered), Penneys/Primark // Jeans (altered), Hollister //Shoes & Shoes, Asos // Bag, Fossil // Watch, Michael Kors // Jewellery, Topshop

This season it's all varsity jackets, rolled up jeans and platforms, but what trends does AW'13 hold in store for all us fashion enthusiasts? I shared with you all last week that I had been invited over to London by Boohoo to attend their AW'13 Press Day. I was so pleased to be invited and excited to attend, the event was so much fun and we were all treated so well. There was a photographer to take some fun shots to hang on a super cool fence where everyone shared their thoughts on the collection (pictured below), a nail bar, a great lunch, great banter and of course one amazing collection.Above is what I wore to the event and here is what is coming up on Boohoo.com this Autumn..

Boohoo AW'13

AW'13 presents the third Boutique collection for Boohoo, rich contrasting textures, threaded metallics and sequins prevail

Gorgeous vintage inspired jewellery and the perfect heels for next season

Urban English Trend, English heritage chic with younger city influences, country shearling yet with city embellishment

The epitome of Boohoo.. The Rebel Trend is rock chick ready, nothing is boring in this trend, think studs, rock tees and leather

Future Sports takes sports luxe to another level, think structured silhouettes, luxe fabrics, block colours and futuristic panelling of cobalt blue and hot pink
For those of you who cannot wait until Autumn here are some of my favourite pieces on Boohoo.com at the moment..

Boohoo is your one stop shop for festival wear this Summer, these embroidered denim pieces are key this summer and are unlike any others on the high street at the moment

My personal favourites at the moment, I love these fringed black shorts, perfect for Summer yet team them with black tights in Winter. For shorts with a difference, Boohoo has a huge selection

Cocoon sleeves, structured silhouettes, Rock 'n Roll glamour, luxe fabrics, contrasting fabrics and double layer coats, Boohoo has everything to offer this season. Skirts are getting longer, cropped tops become oversized and cocooned and their fabrics get richer. All of the pieces are of surprisingly great quality, despite the low price tag. The shearling gillet, pictured above, is so soft, the quality of shearling, fur, the leathers and luxe sportswear surpassed my expectations.

Boohoo is known for being fun and trendy and this season is no different, country wear is younger and more chic, sportswear is more futuristic and punk wear is more Rock 'n Roll yet easy to wear. Yet again this season, Boohoo offers all of the trends but with their own fun, stylish and unique take on every piece.

Press Day attendees and their favourite pieces from the day

Thank you for a great day boohoo.. #boohooAW13

Fashion Icons go punk; Rock 'n Roll is embraced at the Met Gala 2013

The Metropolitian Musuem of Modern Arts Costume Institute Gala is the Oscars of designers, models and fashion enthusiasts alike. The theme for 2013, 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' was a huge success and Hollywoods sweethearts let their inner 'punks' prevail, the studded and spike clad beauties embodied Rock 'n Roll like never before, and they all looked damn hot!

Here are my three favourite outfits from three of my favourite fashion icons, Sienna, Cara and Nicole..

Met Gala 2013: Sienna Miller; Cara Delevigne; Nicole Richie

May Wishlist

Leather Dress, Madewell // Bag, Michael Kors // White Skort, Zara // Watch, Michael Kors // Leather Fringed Skirt, Asos // Copper Rings, Rock 'n Rose

Leather and Blacks.. it's not very 'May' appropriate, but here is what I am wishing for this Month. I always seem to have some leather on my wishlists but I really do love leather clothes, but one thing for sure is it needs to be a cut classic cut. I have been lusting after this leather tshirt dress for weeks now and actually just picked up a replica of this one (a more afordable replica) in London on Thursday, while I was over attending Boohoo's Press Day, which I will be posting within the next couple of days. It's very baggy and just hangs on me which I love. This is my second leather dress, I have posted my Zara one previously, see it (here) but I love the oversized silhoutte of this one. I also love fringed leather, how cool is this skirt? This was a wishlist must and I also found a leather fringed dress which I am hoping to buy soon. It's such an interesting style and really gives leather a completely different look.

Akin to almost every girl I know, I love Michael Kors accessories. I have a rose gold Michael Kors watch already but I have always loved leather strap watches. They are so classic. A friend of mine has one of these MK watches and it looked so beautiful on. Speaking of beautiful and MK, I adore this bag. It is my favourite Michael Kors bag I have seen. I love the shape, it reminds me of a Céline bag. Tan is also my favourite colour for handbags, this is definitely my ultimate wishlist piece.

I have been seeing quite few bloggers wearing these asymmetrical 'skorts' or Culottes lately, they look really cool on and are a great alternative for summer wear. White is also huge this season and I always opt for the white option, however these do come in a cobalt blue. If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook you may have seen that I posted these wishbone rings from Rock 'n Rose a few weeks ago before their release, they are now released and I also spotted this really cool moon and star one.

I hope you all have had a great Saturday and enjoy the rest of the long weekend. Stay tuned for my upcoming Boohoo Press Day post to see how I got on in London, and what Boohoo has to offer this Autumn.
