Shop Similar Shearling Coats For Less..

Last December while on a business trip to London, I popped into Topshop on Oxford Street to have a look and found myself lusting after some beautiful sheepskin coats. Sadly for me, at £500 and above, they weren’t within my pre-christmas budget! Luckily for me, my lovely Papa Bear had a beautiful, sheepskin coat stashed away in a wardrobe and he kindly gave it to me. While I do love an oversized coat, this coat was a little more super-sized than oversized; the sleeves slung far beyond my little hands. As the coat is real sheepskin I knew I would have to be very careful where I brought it to so I brought it to my local Zipyard in Galway (you can find them on Facebook here and Twitter here). The Zipyard is held in high regard because they really do know what they’re doing and they were more than capable of altering this for me, and they were surprisingly quick even though I left it in just before Christmas. I wanted to bring up the sleeves and make it slightly narrower without losing the oversized, mannish shape and they were able to do just that.

For this look I kept the remainder of the outfit minimal in sleek black with a chiffon top, leather - look trousers and my beloved pointed boots from Zara which have been my staple since I opened them on Christmas morning. Another item which has not left my side (or rather my right shoulder) is my Marc Jacobs bag from Monnier Frérés.
