Last week I was invited to the Beacon hotel in Sandyford, Dublin to experience their Vintage Tea Party package along with a host of journalists and bloggers. The Beacon is a plush four star boutique hotel located just outside Dublin’s city centre. I love luxurious hotels (who doesn’t), but especially love quirky boutique style hotels. One of the first things I noticed upon arrival was a huge four poster bed in the middle of the lobby, a vintage style bed that was actually a table as it happens.
If you follow me on Instagram (@nualagorham) and Snapchat (nualsg) you’ll have spotted plenty of pictures of the hotel’s interiors already - it’s quite the Instagram-worthy hotel with its quilted elevator interiors and beautiful rooms. The Vintage Tea Party Experience is just one of the packages the hotel offers for weekend break aways (see the rest here). The tea party is ideal for a hen party or girlie weekend away. We all met up in the lobby for a champagne reception before being brought up to the Crystal Suite for the Vintage Tea Party which included your usual tea party delicacies and a vintage beauty masterclass hosted by the Beauty Team Studios. I’m really not one for your typical ‘sashes and phallic straws’ (sorry it had to be said) hen parties so I loved this sophisticated yet glamorous idea. The hotel would also be perfect for a girlie shopping weekend away as it’s located very close to Dundrum Towncentre, Dublin’s premium shopping centre.
That evening, after a quick outfit change and emailing session (it was a weekday after all), we all met up once again for a pre-dinner drink in the chic lobby before heading into the My Thai restaurant. We enjoyed a tapas style meal from the Asian pacific menu which I loved. I really enjoy tasting a bit of everything over some really great wine so this was the perfect evening for me. During the wine fuelled chats of the night most of us decided we were going to order room serve for the following the morning and it was seriously the best idea. I returned to my room and excitedly filled out my room service menu before falling into bed.
The following morning I woke around 7am and really wanted to make the most of the remaining hours of my stay. After enjoying my morning Instagram session in bed, I took off to the gym for a quick session before returning to my room for a bath. I never take baths but the one in the Beacon tempted me. I spent the next few hours in my Beacon monogrammed robe enjoying breakfast and working from the bed.
Until next time,
nuala
