I know some of you may think calling a trip to one of my local beaches ‘travel’ is kind of silly, but it’s very important for me to remember that not all of readers are from Ireland. I’m also very proud of where I’m from - Connemara, are Ireland in general, is so beautiful.

As most of you may know, I launched a travel section to my website this year and have been categorising my travel adventures under the hashtag #NualaTravels on Instagram (it was originally #PandPtravels until I realised someone else was using it!) I really wanted to start a travel section to show all of my readers some of my favourite places to explore, to visit, to eat, etc. I want to inspire my readers to visit these places, whether they’re visiting from Dublin or California. I think people think I’m crazy to be still living at home with the work that I do and how often I travel up and down to Dublin. It would make sense for me to move to Dublin, or even London or New York, given that I work in fashion. But to be honest, at the moment, I feel like I have the best of both worlds.
A good friend of mine who is also a blogger, Anouska shares the same love for rural Ireland as I do so I invited her down to Galway for a little road trip around the city and my hometown of Connemara. First stop of the day was Barna, which you can see in my Instagram upload here. Barna is one of my favourite little towns. It’s very small and has a beautiful beach and pier which always seem so undisturbed. It also has great restaurants so we stopped off here for some lunch in The Twelve, one of my personal favourites. The Twelve is a boutique hotel situated and it’s bar restaurant is one of my go-to places for a Sunday lunch or evening meal. It always has such a wonderful atmosphere and the food is great.
We then continued out the costal road to visit the Doilín beach, a coral beach in Carraroe and shoot our looks for the day. While it may not be the most comfortable to walk on, the coral is so beautiful and I knew it would look great in the pictures. In a very hilarious coincident, Anouska and I were actually wearing almost identical outfits! You can view Anouska’s look here. After shooting our looks we headed back into Galway for horse riding on Rusheen beach with Moycullen Riding Centre, which was so amazing! We then finished our day with a late dinner in De Robertos in Salthill.
This outfit was perfect for a hot summer day, it was comfortable and I loved the style of the Bardot top with my new One Teaspoon Bandits denim shorts from Shopbop. I had also just received these Kristin Cavallari fringe sandals from Lulu’s that morning so I couldn’t wait to wear them!
Until next time,
nuala
