My next ski destinations - Madame Vacances Hotel Ibiza Les Deux - just look at that terrace!
Many of you will remember I went on my first ski trip last March and after only a few days on the slopes we had decided we were going to make a ski trip an annual winter holiday. We absolutely loved it. We travelled with Madame Vacances and couldn’t have been more pleased with the entire trip. It was so well organised from airport transfers to ski passes and ski hire. When we checked into our room, Madame Vacances had sunglasses, lip balm and even a selfie stick left for us which we thought was such a nice touch. The selfie stick definitely came in hand and with the cold temperatures and sunshine - the sunglasses and lip balm were necessities.
If you’re on the hunt for ski or winter boots, look no further than HERE!
We stayed in Hotel Le Mottaret in Mottaret-Meribel last March which I’ve written about in more detail below but this year we decided to book a different location within the French Alps. There is quite a lot to think about when booking a ski trip - the location, accessibility of airports and transfers, the accommodation, ski hire and ski passes, etc. so I really wanted to book with Madame Vacances again as it was great value and stress-free last time. There are also a few airports you can travel to from Dublin which is important as the more options you have the more likely you are to get a good deal. I would also strongly advise booking your flights as early as possible! You can read about my last ski trip to Hotel Le Mottaret HERE
So this year we’ve book five nights in Madame Vacances Hotel Ibiza in early January. We’ll actually be there for my birthday and this time we’re going with some close friends of ours which is going to be so much fun. There were so many ski resorts to choose from but I loved the look of Hotel Ibiza. It’s a beautiful hotel with a large south facing terrace, balconies in the rooms, hot tub, Turkish baths, indoor swimming pool and sauna. The resort also has a lot to offer in addition to skiing including ice-skating and trips to ice caves.
Where I plan to spend my evenings after a day of skiing - drinks and board games is my ideal evening!
We stayed in Hotel Le Mottaret last March, a cabin style hotel located in Méribel-Mottaret, a bustling ski village and only a 10 minute free shuttle bus journey to the town of Méribel. The hotel and area is suitable for both families and groups of friends / couples. There are a few bars very close to the hotel which are very busy and have a good buzz during the day, and if you wanted more of a night-life in the evenings, Méribel is much busier and as I mentioned, there is a free shuttle bus which brings you in. I loved the area and being a beginner, I can’t comment on the location for advanced skiers but we found it ideal for us.
